INXS's 1992 release "Welcome To Wherever You Are". No Joke. Amazing album.

questionable choice. i'll have to pick up a used copy next time i'm in d-town and see if you're crazy or not.
in the spirit of your posting, i now recommend my "best album you've never heard by a band you know":
"renegades", by rage against the machine
it's their last album, and it's all covers. certainly doesn't have the ear-bleeding bombast of "battle of los angeles", but to hear rage do the stones' street fighting man, and springsteen's ghost of tom joad... well, that's pretty fucking cool.
